Smith-9th

The Smith-9th Street Subway station in Brooklyn is my favorite station in the whole system. In the Carroll Gardens neighborhood the subway shoots out of the ground and arcs high over the Gowanus Canal before descending back into Park Slope. The high elevation of the station gives it a spectacular view and some of the most amazing light in New York City.

Lost in Time

This storefront in prime northside Williamsburg, Brooklyn feels as if it’s lost in time. Shiny new condos sprout like weeds around it but this harkens back to an earlier time.

Look Up

The other day I saw the most magical sky ever. It had been raining heavily but let up as the sun was setting. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the whole sky lit up bright orange and the clouds morphed into these bizarre shapes.

From my Rooftop

The roof of my apartment in Greenpoint, Brooklyn has an amazing view of Manhattan. Be sure to click on the photo to see it larger.
