I got my Mamiya 6 back and yesterday I took it out for a spin in the neighborhood. There’s something about the emptiness I encounter as I explore around Newtown Creek that I find at once soothing, unsettling and mysteriously alluring. As I walk around I can’t help but wonder what kind of secrets are hiding behind all these walls. With some measure of luck and persistence I hope to commit those feelings to film in the coming months.

With nothing better to do on a dismally cold Saturday I decided to check out the Idiotarod shopping cart race as it went through my neighborhood. It’s a self consciously stupid event but I had fun.
